In honor of Mother's Day, we have a Special Edition blog! This week we've got a chocolate cake recipe sure to make your mouth water!
My mom was a great cook. Some of my best memories with her were in the kitchen. She always made plenty of anything that she cooked or baked.
This cake recipe is one that she made often. There is no frosting recipe with it, because she used a "canned white frosting" (ready-made frosting). I haven't made this in a while, but maybe I'll make it for Mother's Day.
Chocolate Miracle Whip Cake
2 cup flour 1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar 1 cup cold water
4 Tablespoons cocoa 1 cup salad dressing (Miracle Whip)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, and baking soda together in large bowl. Add vanilla, cold water, and Miracle Whip. Stir until blended.
Pour into a greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool and frost. Share with Mom!
